Who we are

Kookaburra Power Technologies (KTECK) is an Australian company focused on delivering battery energy storage to support the shift toward renewable energy. We supply large-scale storage systems housed in purpose-built containers that store electricity and release it when needed, helping stabilise the grid they’re connected to by shifting excess solar and wind energy from when it’s generated to when it’s most useful.

We founded the business after seeing a gap in the market. Many energy projects were facing delays or limitations due to rigid battery offerings that couldn’t adapt to different site requirements or timelines. Most suppliers provide fixed packages that don’t suit every customer. We built our offering around flexibility, safety, and local support.

Our battery energy storage systems (BESS) are manufactured by Brunstock and they are engineered for quality, compliance and adaptability. Our customers include renewable energy developers, utility providers and large energy users, all of whom are working to reduce emissions and improve energy reliability. We help them do that by providing scalable, modular systems backed by experienced local support.

Why choose Kookaburra Power Technologies?

Our services are built on three core principles: reliability, flexibility and local support.

1. Reliability

1. Reliability

Reliable energy storage systems

Brunstock and KTECK partner with proven international manufacturers to supply high-quality battery energy storage systems (BESS). Each battery system is thoroughly tested at the factory and built to meet both global standards and the specific safety and compliance requirements of Australian conditions. This ensures reliable performance and helps our customers and end users meet strict regulatory expectations.

Substation and AC integration experts

We provide complete grid-connected substations to meet any requirement, with the in-house expertise to cover the full electrical scope from battery DC blocks to grid connection point. Our modular approach reduces time on site, but we can customise to any requirement. PCS skids and step-up transformers are pre-commissioned at our Rocklea (Brisbane) facility if needed, with full customer FAT conducted in-house before anything leaves the yard.

Commercial reliability

Skids are assembled in-house at our Brunstock premises in Rocklea, Brisbane. No import risk, no offshore support delays.

High quality, built to last

We pay attention to fine details like galvanised base frames and ISO painting standards, to increase the life of the assets. Kookaburra Power Technologies is DNV certified to ISO 9001, 45001 and 14001, and so are each of the factories where Brunstock BESS and step-up stations are produced. TÜV also assessed BRUN-BESS-5MWh for technical due diligence. The bankability of Brunstock BESS is apparent in the backing of our Tier 1 global pack manufacturer, so the credentials stack up when project finance or off-take discussions arise.

Projects delivered

Proven in 2025 and growing in 2026 onwards, we are currently delivering 60 MWh, with many more MWh projects planned for the coming years. Please take a look at our recent projects.

2. Flexibility

2. Flexibility

Flexible energy storage services

What sets Kookaburra Power Technologies apart is the flexibility we offer. In the battery energy storage market, many companies only sell bundled systems; you’re expected to take their battery, controls and design as a single package. That’s often too rigid for developers who may have preferred equipment, contractors or existing network controls in place.

We take a different approach. As an authorised distributor of Brunstock, a high-quality battery energy storage solution, we provide a product that integrates easily with a variety of systems. This gives customers the freedom to tailor the rest of their project as they see fit, without being tied to one vendor’s model.

Our team has deep experience in energy, infrastructure and construction. We understand budget pressure, tight timelines and compliance challenges, not to mention the importance of aligning to Australian Standards. We don’t push a one-size-fits-all solution; we focus on getting the right outcome for each project.

Our BESS, your way

We are agnostic on the brand of PCS, so if you need a certain brand or specific functions, we can work with you. That extends to DC-to-DC converters, too. If the customer or end user has an existing OEM relationship or preferred supplier, we also accept free-issued PCS and DC converters and integrate them into the skid solution. Some manufacturers even lock you in with their software and controls, but KTECK allows you the ability to source the best applications and controls for your specific project, if you would rather not use ours.

3. Support

3. Support

Supportive energy storage suppliers

We offer hands-on engineering and project support in Australia. When a Brunstock system arrives on site, our team works closely with the customer’s preferred contractors and control system providers to ensure everything fits together as planned. This coordination is essential to avoid integration issues and delays.

KTECK stays involved throughout the process. We assist with project planning, support the installation process, and help manage commissioning. We’re also developing our long-term service offering so customers have access to maintenance and technical help over the whole life of the system.

Looking forward, we’re expanding our national footprint and exploring local servicing options to support local Australian businesses and improve delivery timelines. Safety, performance and adaptability remain central to our approach as we help power Australia’s renewable future.

Great support that is local for Australia

Not just detailed support for the DC block, but also the balance of plant (BOP), no chasing others in different time zones. Our 20-person engineering team in South-east Queensland covers the full project lifecycle, tender support, CAD and electrical design, AS standards compliance, operations support and project management. One team, one point of contact, with the authority to actually resolve things.

You can see from our product information that we provide local offers and solutions that align to Australian Standards and IEC.
